JCrafts × Chabad of Aspen Hill

Momentum begins with a spark.

Here in Aspen Hill, momentum flows through Chabad of Aspen Hill, a home of warmth, inclusivity, and joyful Jewish life.

Guided by Chabad’s philosophy that every Jew carries a powerful inner spark, our community programming embraces every individual with meaning and openness.

From vibrant holiday celebrations, community Shabbat experiences, and our mezuzah project, to our inspiring speaker series and adult-education offerings—Chabad is uplifting Jewish identity, strengthening families, and building community connection.

At the center of it all is JUDAH Hebrew School, offering a rigorous, joyful, and engaging Jewish education that gives children lifelong confidence, knowledge, and pride.

For over a decade, JCrafts has been that spark for thousands of Jewish children and families across Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC. For countless affiliated and unaffiliated Jews, JCrafts was their first-ever Jewish experience—or their first in decades.

Through immersive, multisensory workshops that engage all five senses, JCrafts has transformed Jewish learning into living Jewish belonging.

Parents have begun celebrating Shabbat for the first time; families of diverse backgrounds have discovered a welcoming place to explore Judaism; and educators across the Jewish spectrum have endorsed JCrafts as a regional trailblazer in experiential education.

With thousands of yearly participants and a fast-growing reach, the momentum is real—and accelerating.

A few years ago, JCrafts established the JCrafts Center for Jewish Life and Tradition, expanding beyond its mobile programming to create a permanent home for deeper, more sophisticated experiential education.

The center features a powerful audiovisual system, a 40-foot IMAX-style screen, and cutting-edge QLab technology—the same system used in Disney parks. This space transforms into a world where curiosity comes alive.

Each year, thousands of visitors—including families, local schools, Hebrew schools, public schools, summer camps, and community groups—step inside the JCrafts universe to experience Jewish life in a way that is fun, meaningful, and unforgettable.

Our workshops spark pride, ignite connection, and inspire families to bring Judaism into their homes—sometimes for the very first time.
